I slept so well last night!

It was actually a treat to wake up refreshed and comfortable. I think it was the combo of heated mattress pad and oscillating fan.

And then I got out of bed…

  • Discovered that UCF did not defer my enrollment to Spring as I had thought.
  • Had to apply for enrollment all over again.
  • Luckily I had money for the fee, and they have all the supporting documents.
  • Worried I won’t get the class I need.
  • Realized during the application process that I have not renewed my tags yet.
  • Sadly I do not have the money for that until Friday.
  • Luckily I’m working mornings on Black Friday so I can get tags renewed after work.
  • If the tag office is open… if not then it will be next week.
  • I’m sitting oddly twisted and causing my hip to ache.
  • I need to get off my ass and get dressed for work.


Super FriSatDay!

My Friday was so pleasant I could have happily gone back to work today LOL I was just so refreshed, energized, and happy 🙂

So what got me there?

  • I got my shots! I have been unable to find my childhood immunization records so I haven’t been able to register for classes. I had to pay out of pocket, plus I needed to be over the sinus plague, so this has been something that has unfortunately been delayed many times. The nurses at the Health Department told me to move my arms to help the shots disperse. I asked about going to the gym later in the day and was told that was an excellent idea. Whew! I did end up taking some Tylenol before bed as I felt a smidge sore and feverish.
  • Yoga book! I wanted a book that would  give me good photos and information on poses (where I’m supposed to be pressing/pushing/opening, what muscles to activate, etc) plus flow sequences. I think this one may do the trick, The Women’s Health Big Book of Yoga. I actually bought the paperback book so I could have it on the floor by my mat.
  • 2.5 hours at the gym! My trainer got delayed so instead of coming home I got in some cardio (treadmill and bike), then worked 2 circuits on the machines. To make up for his being late, he gave me more than hour so I actually racked up 2 and 1/2 hours at the gym – WOOF!
  • Lamb chops for dinner!  not something I would eat every week but damn, they are yummy! I marinate them in olive oil, salt, pepper, rosemary and a little tarragon. Throw them in a cast iron skillet to get a good crust then gobble them down!

And today?

  • Lower BMI!!!  Checked my BMI using the Wii and while still Obese, I am at a significantly lower number. I was 43.45 and now 40.51! YES!!!
  • New workout pants – Comfy and don’t look too shabby 😛
  • The Diet Cure book – I read about this on a /r/xxfitness thread, and thought I’d give it a read. Hopefully it will provide some relief for my horrible sugar addiction. I’ve had some good result cutting wheat and limiting my dairy, I know if I could get rid of the excess sugar I’ll feel even better. I downloaded the Nook version.
  • Back in the gym tonight – Eager to see what I can do tonight.
  • Will start working out before work – my trainer is being absolutely awesome and flexible with my work schedule. We’re going to try meeting up about 2 hours before I go to work. I’ll pack a bag and shower/change at the gym.
  • Getting a game plan for the week worked out – with the above new workout schedule I will have to be organized. Plus I want to get my meals cooked & organized. I ate out far too much last week.

I survived!

Made it through my first day of work! Woot! it was both humbling and ego-enriching.

I was a little hesitant as I was going back to the company that laid me off but to a lower position. Part of me felt that I had failed. I was humiliated at having to start over again. I was embarrassed to tell people why I was back…

I shouldn’t have worried.

I was greeted with big grins, hearty hugs, and sincere welcomes. I am floored and still kinda teary eyed over it. People wanted me back! Me??? yes, Me!!! Plus they are planning on adapting the position so I can focus on certain aspects of my prior job, the parts I liked best! SCORE!

It’s been awhile – an Update

Look! An update!!! I just finished week 3 of a 6 week training period. I’m facilitating training new hires at work. I have one class of 30 on the sales floor, another 30 in the classroom, and 30 more looming on the near horizon. So yeah, on my feet and talking constantly for 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Plus staying late to do reports, paperwork, grade knowledge checks, and perform my weekly quality calibrations. I have literally worked every day for 21 days.

Nutrition – I’m eating pretty well and managed to lose a few pounds. Woot! This past week I dined on bacon wrapped filets and a huge t-bone steak, plus green veggies and fresh fruit. However I’ve been carb-craving but that might be due to my monthly cycle. I actually had a small portion of rice, noodles, and a slice a pizza through out the week.

Workout – Nil. Nyet. Nada. Nope. I’m so physically exhausted at the end of the day that any other activity is impossible. For example, Friday night I was asleep by 8:30pm, and tonight? maybe 9:30pm!

I’ve gotten frustrated with New Rules program and it’s been aggravating my hip/knee. I find I like simple lifts – squats and deadlifts. I’m going to give Nia Shank’s “Beautiful Badass” program a shot. Three to four exercises plus hiit, three times a week. I think it’s simple enough to keep me interested and small enough I can squeeze it in during my crazy “peak” season.

Relationships – Hmm. Well… dunno. HotHunkyGuy and I still talk. He would like to have me in his life but wants the relationship blended with his current live-in chick. I don’t care for group dynamics and know I especially could not manage well with his chicky. Simply put, and I am fully aware of how bad this sounds,but she is not someone I would be friends with in any situation. I would quickly grow impatient and frustrated with her. There are days when I want nothing more than to curl up and rest my head on his chest but I know it carries a big ugly price.

Life in General – Discovered bees starting to hive in one of the exterior walls. Luckily a local bee guy was able to get out earlier this week and take care of them with minimal damage to the house. The upside of the bees is that the house is rather tidy from the mad cleaning I did in prep of the bee guy coming.

Washer and dryer still broken. I had planned on buying myself a new one as a self birthday & Christmas present but the bees pushed that plan out a bit.

Had this weird facial pain that turned out to be to be a polyp in my sinus cavity. My doc thinks it’s allergy related. I just finished a course of antibiotics and will be on a steroid for some time. Does this mean I can blame crankiness on roid-age???

The cat has decided she needs to sit on my chest so I’ll wrap this up 😛

Working out a new schedule

The next 6 weeks are going to be interesting/insane/busy/monotonous/exciting/challenging. So to try to keep myself from pulling my hair out and binge eating I’m going to try out a schedule. I’m also trying to prep as much as possible. For example, today I cooked carnitas and have chicken breasts marinating. I made a BJ’s run for bacon, BabyBell cheese, frozen broccoli and spinach, ground beef and chicken thighs. I think it’s the exercising that I’m going to have issues with. It’s just a self-discipline issue. I gotta get up before work and do something.

  • 5:15 AM Stretch – Lift – Cardio if time
  • 6:15 AM get ready for work
  • 7:30 AM leave for work
  • 8:00 AM Work
  • 10:00 AM Break – protein/cheese
  • 12:00 PM Lunch – protein & veggies
  • 2:00 PM  Break – yogurt / fruit
  • 6:00 PM Leave Work!
  • 6:30PM – Cuddle cat / yoga / cardio
  • 7:00 PM – Dinner
  • 9:00PM – Bed!

Blissful Sunday

I woke up with a 10 item to-do list. I had big plans to accomplish “stuff”. All those nagging little chores that I couldn’t get to during the week. The whole list wouldn’t take more than 3 or 4 hours tops…

Nope. Not gonna happen.

I realized I needed a downtime day. I’ve been going hard & fast for 2 weeks now with the new job. I’m loving the job but right now it is very stressful. Normally I would do these chores on Saturday but we had a company picnic.

It was great! I had fun and I won “Most Original” in the dessert contest! However I spent nearly 5 hours on my feet – socializing, walking around, manning the helium tank blowing up balloons, and being silly at the dessert contest. My feet hurt. My back hurt. My teeth started hurting (onset of sinus infection). I ate a lot of carbs so my tummy & gut hurt…

So yeah, Sunday rolled around and I just can’t get started. So rather than beat myself up about it I declared that I would kickback and relax instead. And I did. I enjoyed a few delicious cocktails. I watched a bunch of dvr’d shows (Lost Girl, Alphas, Perception) and enjoyed a mini Law & Order marathon. I got lost in Pinterest. Researched menopause and diet. Learned some new things about WordPress. Read some cool blogs.

It has been just an all around excellent day. I’m off tomorrow so I’ll get those pesky chores done then… maybe 🙂

Day 4 of new job

Ooof! I’ve been on my feet (walking) for two looooong ass days at work. My feet ache, my thighs are fatigued, and I’ve got a cramp in my neck & right shoulder. I’d love to work out tonite but concerned cause I’m so shaky. I’m only going in to work tomorrow for a staff meeting so I may wait until Friday. Yay for offsetting my hours! Then I can put in a serious hard workout. Next week will be more mundane so I think I’ll start working out in the mornings since I seem to be waking up naturally at 5:30am.

Back to Reality Camp

My vacation is coming to a close in a few hours. I’ve enjoyed these last couple of days immensely.  As much as I’d like to brag about all the things I accomplished I really did not do all that much. The only socializing was at a family birthday party. I went out to the grocery store a couple of times. Indulged in a some retail therapy one day. Mostly I watched tv and poked around online. I loved it.

Work – This coming week is my last week in my current position at work. Next week I start my new job and I’m really excited about it. I am only working 4 days this week so I can transition back to a day time schedule during the weekend. This week will be mostly cleaning up loose ends (sounds so sinister!), developing plan and goals for new job, getting systems & permissions set up, etc.

Health & Fitness – I’m so psyched! I start Stage 2 from The New Rules of Lifting for Women this week PLUS I’m participating in three different fitness challenges: 90 Days Goal on Reddit, Fitocracy – 2 Week Free For All – Floridians, Fitocracy – Battle Royal – XXKeto. I’m still so surprised at how much I could lift, it’s been moving me right along. I’m shooting for a strict Keto Diet this week. My net carbs have been coming in at 30+grams daily so I’m hoping 20g or less will move the weight off.

90 Days Goal

  • Lose 16 lbs and keep it off (obviously I’m going for more overall)
  • Consistent strength training 3 times a week
  • Consistent cardio 3 times a week
  • Get the confidence to bellydance again

Sprint 1 Goals

  • Determine if morning or evening is best for workout (new work schedule starting in 1 week)
  • Drink my water!
  • Continue to eat clean & 80% paleo
  • Cut carbs out to 20g or less
  • Push myself, don’t be afraid of the weights
  • Foam roll more often
  • Work in some yoga for flexibility
  • Don’t forget how much I’ve accomplished so far

OMG this night!!!

I’m a babbling bubbling ball of emotions!
1st I wake up to hear of a death in the family. Then I learn that I have to wait until Thursday morning for some career news. And not only have to get through my shift but I have to stay late for dreary meeting. But then a wonderful awesome young artist showed me the draft of “Cartoon-Me” – SQUEE!

So yeah – I’m all over the frakkin place emotionally HA!
